POSITION OVERVIEW
GreenAcre Auto Repairs Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Electrician to support its operations during its relocation to Tasmania. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems in a wide range of motor vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Australian industry standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect motor vehicles to identify electrical and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic methods and testing equipment.
- Maintain, repair, and replace faulty wiring, switches, fuses, lamps, and other electrical and electronic components.
- Test electrical systems and components to determine the cause of malfunctions and accurately diagnose vehicle electrical issues.
- Diagnose and repair charging, starting, and engine management systems.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical systems, wiring, accessories, and electronic components in motor vehicles.
- Connect power-operated vehicle equipment and accessories to the power supply
- Use diagnostic equipment and specialized testing tools to troubleshoot and rectify complex electrical and electronic faults.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic findings and repair work.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and automotive electrical safety standards.
ELIGIBILITY AND EXPERIENCE
- Applicants must be based in Australia and have full working rights in Australia.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant full-time industry experience post-qualification.
- AQF Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR30320) or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing automotive electrical and electronic systems.
- Proficiency in using computerised diagnostic equipment, electrical testing instruments, and fault-finding tools.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical service manuals.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, engine management systems, and electronic control units.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- A current Australian driver's licence is desirable.
